May I ask about the branch on the inside of a curve? I've read "rules" against doing so but it obviously works here and in other instances. Is there a time and place to break that "rule"?
Bill and Clyde... I'm so glad you guys like it! Eric always laughs at me when I'm mooning over it these days...lol As Daniel often says, your favorite tree is whichever one you are working on at the time.
Robbie... You know there's not much I wouldn't want to share with you my friend... but this one might be one of the limits, though you have a few I might consider a trade on. lol I know you'd even spring for shipping if I wanted to send it to you. But I'll add it to the ones I want you to have in my will.
Berobinson82.... The reason this one works in spite of the rule to my mind, is that the branch is in the lowest third of that curve, and the next branch is above it. The spacing and the movement are in good proportion to each other, so it works. If the branch had been coming directly out of the middle of the curve, it would not work for me. It also has enough visual weight to the left to keep the tree in balance. In the end the rules are about helping us create something visually pleasing, and are no longer a rule when that has been accomplished by some other means.

And this tree is MOST visually pleasing. I am heading to your blog to read more about this beauty. Thanks for posting.
Sweet sweet thing. I love the branch design but mostly the sensitive feminine yet stalwart feel. Its funny how I always feel almost awkward when seeing certain trees--its the level of revealed intimacy. I always feel strangely close to the creator and get a bit blushy.
Lol .... wonderful compliment ... but I wouldn't do that rock ....... this tree took nearly 30 yrs and 4 artists to create .... it is one of our favorites
I am honored by your appreciation of this tree... taking it from a tree I liked very much to a tree that just draws me in, has been a joy. I wish you all could see it in person... because the photo is good, but the tree is better. Many hands have helped it on it's way, including Eric's, but I'm grateful I was the one who got to bring it to this place.
I'm going to get some photos of it this weekend, it's opening out even more.... so lovely.

That's all well and good, but all that work would amount to nothing if the CURRENT owner (s) didn't understand what the previous ones were trying to do and acted accordingly.
