    Went to Longwood Gardens

There is a whole "lane" of them I believe. Massive trunks... misleading in the pictures as to size but represents the "Northern mature form".

Yes it has. And it does resemble the ones growing there- check them out! Huge, but take the triangular shape of a mature conifer rather than a flat top as they do here.

    Went to Longwood Gardens

I go there every year when I visit the in-laws. BC is meh, but I'm kinda jaded living down south. :)

    Monster Crepe Myrtle development

I have been doing bonsai for some 30 years now and have an large amount of advanced knowledge and I know this material well. This is NOT going back in the ground but will be in a grow box not a pot so that growth can be regulated as appropriate (never mentioned putting it in a pot) Not...

28" Can get some big boy pots done in this one. Loading it is gonna be a workout. Former owner used to make Mexican sinks in it.

    Monster Crepe Myrtle development

So what am I seeing here? Yes, this is a huge mass of "posts"... far too big, "junk" to those with limitations in experience, vision, etc. Easily a 10 year project including learning how to make very large cement pots... 😅 This will be "Imperial sized" at 4' + about equal to the basal...

    Monster Crepe Myrtle development

If I remember correctly that box is about 40" wide. The base literally extends the full width of the box, which you can almost see around the dirt... . First order of business is eliminating all the basal sprouts (my bad, should have been doing this all along) and basically removing...

    Monster Crepe Myrtle development

Somewhere, a long time ago, I saw a picture of a large crepe myrtle done by John Naka and I always wanted to do one. Logistically branches must be allowed to extend for flowering make it very difficult to pull off a smaller flowering crepe. That, and they just LOVE to die back on you so it...

Hmmm.. Never saw alerts that you'd replied. Wasn't ignoring you... All my other kilns are 18" interior width. I have an Evenheat and a "Jenkins"... and now this monster Paragon. I have an Olympic 1823 gas kiln that I started out with. Whole different world! I think it took 11ish hours to go 6-7...

    Clay slabs?

They can be... like a flat scoop? I think I have one out in the nursery that looks a bit like sandstone. fairly heavy.

    Dear potters of bnut

Agree (miracle!) if you are not using some mucky mix that holds a ton of water I don't see a well vitrified pot failing... Also to answer another comment... purse aka "bag" pot.

Last set... A "whiskey" cup but I think the combinations have some potential Esp. if I can get the amber hue to work on the outside of the pot. It came out baby $h1t brown on another piece. Also some Chun Celadon tests that I am working on. IMO they are too chunky.... That is okay for some...

Another one of the glaze combinations I am currently working on... drippy as hell. I made of a series of these scoops to hand out to some specific folks.

This is a "Klingon skull"... If yo compare the pre-bisque pics you can see that the back blew out on it. I decided to still had potential so I kept with it. It also has a stress crack around the drain hole so I'll never sell it but it definitely has a lot going on.

I have not used this (Hare's Fur) glaze in a while. It seems "all the rage these days". Definitely a dripper. Used to love it, from larger pots down to mame/grass pots.

I did a bit ago but I have no problem self-flagellating again. :) I just found Sorce's auctions this morning. Definitely a place I would consider as there were some folks interested.
