UPDATE: I’ve decided not to layer this tree. I’m going to leave as much foliage as possible and work the deadwood I have, possibly creating more. I decided to start cleaning the tree up a bit, removing crotch shoots, dead growth, and cleaning up the deadwood and live vein. This is going to take a while and I barely put a dent in he progress. But the veins and deadwood at first appearance are phenomenal. Very excited to begin wiring and legit work on this tree next spring/summer. I’ll update then.

I was about to say "If Todd Schlafer ever comes around you should get him to work on this tree." Beautiful! Great find!

My plan is to ... get it to a work shop with Tod Schlafer ...
+1 and awesome to have such an opportunity.
Congrats on the collection. One day, maybe I too will attain a collected tree besides an old Pfitzer from a local landscape that I'm allergic to.
A tree just collected last year, especially a Juniper... Is not likely to be healthy and vigorous enough to layer easily.
Most people want to give 2-3 or more years to let a Juniper recover from being collected ...
That was my 1st thought as I began reading this thread. Excellent +1.
Have to say I LOVE the pot in your avatar Eric. Makes me drool.
