Ameican Bonsai Tools?

They have multiple lines of tools. I believe that they may make the tools that are marketed as "hand made" and they outsource the production of the tools that are on the lower end.
I was told this by a person who orders from them wholesale, but no I'm not 100% sure.
I was just researching Kaneshin tools on here and came across this comment. This is not true… well not 100% true.

All of their shears you find on their English website are 100% Japanese made by their master craftsmen. The ranges of prices are determined by the level of the craftsman that made it. And each craftsman focuses primarily on a single grade of steel because each steel is slightly different.

There are ways to accelerate the crafting process like having the components machine stamped out of steel rather than hand cut, and then refined by craftsman from there. I think that is what makes the 100% handmade unique. As someone who makes leather goods I can tell you that I hand make everything, meaning I also cut all of the components by hand. To be honest though you’d probably be better off if I used a stamping machine to cut out the components and machine sewed it because it would be more precise. So handmade is cool, but it’s not necessarily better.

So yes, all of the tools we see on their English website are 100% Japanese made by their craftsmen.

The reason it is not 100% true is they do have some tools that are made in China, but these are NOT sold on their English website. I discovered this when I found some wire cutters on their Japanese website and asked about them. Mr Nishimura said that he would NOT sell them to me because he only sells Japanese made tools internationally. He said the only reason he was even having these made was that there was high demand for them domestically in Japan and there was not a master in Japan who was skilled in making this particular style of wire cutter.

so after that long winded reply I want to repeat - all Kaneshin shears you have access to are made by their master craftsmen in Japan.
