A quick progression of a volunteer seedling from the yard.
October 2015. Seedling either found growing in a pot or in a grow bed and moved to the terra-cotta.
March 2016 moved to grow bed. Planted on top of a tile.
November 2017
November 2019. Dig up and moved to a grow pot for two years.
Spring of 2023 after first cutback.
I’ve had issues with branch dieback or die off which has hampered primary branch thickening and ramification. I’ve learned not to trim it back in dormancy to help alleviate this. Still learning some of the nuances of growing this in a container. It’s been repotted once since being removed from the ground in 2020.
