Is this BC too big for this pot? I'm not trying to put it in there this year. I just wanted to see if I could get it to fit. It went back into it's training pot cuz it's top still need development. Anyways in a year or two when I'm rdy to put it in a pot would this pot be OK. Theres no room for growth at all, It's sitting on where I plated it and I really had to carve everthing down to get it in here. The pot is huge and I really like it but thers no left over room. I got a year or two to find a larger pot but I like this one. BC in a pot 1.jpgbc in a pot 2.jpgbc in a pot 3.jpg

That is a wicked bc! But yeah definitely small 😅 looks awesome in that tiny pot but I think it would push itself out of that lil thing In no time, looking forward to seeing the tree develop though that really is a awesome tree

Remember the practice of binding the feet of Asian women????

Definitely appears to be a pond cypress instead of bald...wrong bark for bald cypress...Baldies have thin bark that flakes off...Pond Cypress have thick bark to protect from fires...yours has very thick bark

Reach out to Rob Wallace @ForrestW or Eli Akins @Waldo Street Pottery for an appropriately sized container.

I always thought it might be a pond, I think about half of my cypresses and the ones with the better base cypress seem to be ponds but I'm not sure.
Thanks everyone for the replies. I'll enjoy looking for a larger pot, although they do get expensive.

Awesome trunk, reminds me of upright giant sequoias. Any chance you are planning to style it that way? It would be an interesting project to follow. :D

I think it’s a matter of taste. I like the small pot as it makes an already great nabiri look bigger. I keep willows in a pond. I think this BC would look great on a pond too.

Waaaaaaay ttoooooooo small. Think five times that size. Big trees require big pots. Big trees are expensive to keep.

It’s POSSIBLE to keep the tree I this but the tree won’t appreciate it. Also to make look less ridiculous you would have to bring the trunk down tat least half its current height.

Like I said having BIG trees isn’t cheap from soil to pots to stands to the equipment required to move them around (the older you get the heavier the tree gets)
