One of six divided from a bush collected at a friend's house last fall.

Just selecting some branches and setting some structure today.

Tip: use pliers to hold the previous section of wire as you wind the next section.

No blood spilled this round.

I really like barberry but they just dont seem to like being in a pot with the conditions i give them. I got rid of my last barberry about a month ago.

All these are looking great and should make great long term projects!

Thanks, hopefully I can keep them going. The others are just bushes - never had time to do anything with them this summer.

They definitely aren't as predictable in their growth though, but this one is behaving so far.

It looks so healthy. Way nicer than mine ever was.

Snapping photos while I have things out to de-wire. Cut back most extending shoots to two nodes.

Not sure of the angle yet. Flat and the bottom branches are on the same plane, but I don't think I like it tilted left either. We'll give it a few years of blank stares.

Just letting the top grow.
