Hello Nuts,

I haven't gotten to post a progression on this barberry yet on the forum, but I have had it since 2020.

At the time I got the tree, I liked the long trunk it had but over time I decided it was better suited as a shohin.

Last season I put on a board to improve the poor nebari. I also filled the pot with a mix heavy in finer akadama.

Very happy with the results!!!

This , to me looks like the best tree design. Free advice, and worth every penny you paid for it! :)

@Tidal Bonsai, how is this one looking now?

I have one myself that I need to find a moon/crescent shaped pot for.
It's looking good! It just needs a little vinegar to kill the algae at the base.

Bummed to see that the chop didn't start rolling yet, but I am going to give it some more time and see what happens.
