Bilbo's pot 2.0

I am in the process of making my 2nd pot with air drying clay, i feel that i need redemption after my 1st attempt.

They clay is still soft.

What colour/colours should i paint this?

Any suggestions for decorating the clay? E.g carving

I still need to smooth out the top edge a little.

For longevity sake, I wouldn't put too much "thin" detail.

I like the one @Brian Van Fleet has one of his recent updates in....
With like a quarter inch round band about a half inch below the solid top.

But you'd Probly have to ditch the lip.

I tend to surround myself with strange objects. That is an ash tray that i bought a year ago with the intention of growing a "root over zombie head"... i just havent gottent around to it yet.

1st coat of paint. What do you guys think? Should i keep this colour or go for something else?

I am. I know im going to end up creating way more pots than i need.
