Hi,

I have a bucida spinosa I bought last year, and it's current branch pattern is a bit erratic. I'd love to consider grafting branches into a better position. I haven't been able to find any information on if this tree handles grafting well.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

I live in natural range for black olive and haven't heard of anyone trying. We typically cut back to the desired spot and regrow.

That said, air layers take two years to grow out enough to cut them off. If that is any indication, it will be challenging to graft.
