Bunjin pinus

So.. so a few days ago I went in for some basic development wiring and just soooo had to remove that sacrifice branch. It hurt my eyes and was past the point of causing a bulge especially with the smaller sized branch being right next to there. Watch out!

I’m not 100% sure that branch #1 won’t end up as a Jin or even removed all together also at some point. It’s early in the game. I didn’t want to risk a crack or notch to get the upward angle out of the branch is why it has an over the rainbow thing going on. It’s I haven’t picked a front even yet early in the game so the branch albeit annoying shall stay.

More clean up work when round one of the needles get cut back. Teeezering and brushing the moss out of the bark scales will be too fun. I can go back and clean up the little root stubs then too. Yuk!

Today my soil and 2cd pot choice came in so I took down the exposed roots and combed out the old soil and circling roots enough to fit in to the new pot. Boon style for all the pines and red lava for the junipers. Black lava for mostly top layers and a little mix in here or there. Bunjin is hard but I got it a bag of snacks!

Still waiting for some growth. I see a handful of the “green zits” and hoping it pushes more for spring. I’m chalking 2019 up as a reset year since it sat in suspended animation. It’s now dropped all of the pollen cones and pretty much all of the older needles.
