Hello fellow Nuts,

I am currently on a trip to South Africa for a wedding (from NY) and I know that there is a pretty active bonsai scene here. Are there any ZA Nuts that can suggest any good places to stop in the Cape Town/Western Cape region? I’ll mostly be in Cape Town, False Bay, Worcester, and Franschhoek areas. I’d like the opportunity to see some native South African bonsai and buy a locally handmade pot. Any tips on other must-see botanical sites are welcome as well!

It’s on the list of the top 25 bonsai gardens in the world. In the world, Craig.

Only been to Cape Town once in my life and I’m not sure about exclusive bonsai outlets, but I’m sure you can pop into any plant nursery or garden center and have a look.

Also look up kirstenbosh botanical gardens

Stone Lantern bonsai nursery in Durbanville is also gorgeous. The Stellenbosch botanical gardens also has a dedicated bonsai area well worth the trip(as are the gardens themselves)
