Carpinus Turczaninowii (Korean Hornbeam) #1

Repotted this today because the pot froze and burst. Really tried to do a good job this go around with cleaning out the old root ball. I think its a lot cleaner and the tree should benefit in the long term though it may struggle a little this year. Im going to take cuttings this spring also.

The slower left tree needs to be brought forward about 15 degrees. This will probably mean it will need a prune back and redevelopment - I think its too thick to wire though a guy wire might work...

Did a little trim today. Will try rooting the cuttings. Also laid some 3.5mm wire on the big tree to pull the main branch into position where Id like it to go permanently. Pointed at a few key air layer spots as well. One on each tree.
