Check your sense of scale

Is this going by the initial edited photo, or by the later photo with the measuring tape?

Only asking as I definitely see a 2nd trunk coming off photo #2 and am wondering if that would still be classed as informal upright? And if so why?

Still very new to all this so just trying to expand my knowledge
I was talking about the tree with the figure. The initial tree (used in the scale contest) is not really in the Japanese categories, per se. It's not really a multi-trunk, as none of the leaders emerges near enough above the main trunk...doesn't make all that much difference though. Styles can meld into one another. Trees don't have to fit the mold exactly.

I really appreciate the links you have provied. I will take a deep look on them. Hopefully a new match can happen......:)

Lovely figures!. Truth is that I have spent a good amount of hours looking for figures for my trees, and until now, I have made only 3 good matches. I'm kind of demanding when it comes to figures. I must love the figure, the scale it would set and the concordance with the kind of tree or scenery. So still looking for.....

BTW, I asked about the name of the japanese bonsai style you think the chamaecyparis has.
These are higher quality sculpture, but more expensive. I have one of a fox leaping after a flying pheasant. Can't afford more than one 😁

Colorado, Lorax7, Underdog are the winners 🥇🏆 . Runner up Eckhoffw 🥈
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
The wire was the giveaway for me to figure out the scale. Would’ve been a much harder task if there’d been no wire on the tree.

FWIW, the Japanese counterpart to the Chinese Shiwan figures are "ningyo" figures made by the Hakata Urisaki Doll Co.---
