Websters has been changing definitions and adding "words" for years.
By doing what they do, they contribute to the total destruction of standards across the board in America.
"Irregardless" is grammatically incorrect. It's like a double negative and it's sign of poor education.

Tell your son to give you your money back and stop talking like a heathen.

He's got more doctorate degrees than I do. People pay big bucks for him to talk like a heathen.
He's my lost cause irregardless. Bahahaha!
 
I assume that if he's smart enough to know that the "word" has been added recently by the geniuses at Webster's, he probably doesn't use the "word" in common parlance.
Just a guess.
He knows. His job requires him to talk to people at all levels in society and he adjusts accordingly. He just used words like those to annoy me when we talk.
