I first heard of patina in the motorcycle and auto world about ten years ago. To me it;s a way to sell faded paint and surface rust as an attribute. LOL from me:) Sounds good on the auction block.
I buried one in the wet Ohio clay for a week and rubbed it off w/my finger nail.

Hmmm...... how long is a string?? 😁 Depends on how hard you push, how fast you run it, how irregular the surface. You could clean a lot of pots with the arrangement in the photo. That’s a stack of 3 discs 3” diameter.

Same thing that has had them sell everything in the barn....now the barn wood!

Drives me nuts!

I have been watching auctions of antique Chinese Porcelains, $450,000 for a floor vase! No "Patina".
