I donated a big $10 to the Arbor day foundation awile ago... yesterday this showed up in the mail for me :) 10 Spruces and a few lilacs.
I think I'm going to start a small forest with them.. with 5 any ways 1 for my wife and I and 3 for our kids.
Maybe it will help get her on bord with the " damn bonsai " habit I have;)

I'll us this thread to post the progress. Hope you injoy.
Wish me luck!

Should I trim the lower branches off these things? They are a bit more bushy then they look in the pictures? Or just let them be for awile so they can heal from the long trip?

Just let them grow Nwaite.
Let them establish themselves for a year. They just went through a lot of trauma.

Aaahhh fiiiine...

If you place those out in full sun they will grow nicely, faster then they say. Those small brown needles will drop and just let them this year. If they are not tied into the pot make sure they don't get hit with wind as it will mess up the fine roots and any new fine ones.
