To which do you refer?

Magnolia figo (michelia figo or used to be called magnolia fiscati), if so, I have one. It is a difficult species to grow as a bonsai, especially a small one, the branching is very coarse.

A good ol' southern tree. The flowers have an intense banana like smell. I picked this one up at the local botanical gardens plant sale. There were three plants growing in the pot so I separated them, two of which I planted in the yard and the third I potted up to see if I could make a bonsai...

Your blooms look like a lighter, more pale pink color than my Shishi.

My mom is coming up to see us next, so it probably wouldn’t be till next year. But back I will be at some point, that’s for sure.

That's beautiful. I blame you for me wanting Camellias. Not the brightest thing to try and grow them in IL but I have a Roma Risorta just starting to bloom and it's going to be awesome!

No, I didn't. Early on I had wanted to, but chickened out. It has its original nursery roots. I have been slowly working on them at each repot and they have improved somewhat.

Looks more like a bougainvillea than a camelia, but thanks for sharing. It could use a little wire .
