My dawn redwood leaves are browning on the tips. The new growth is bright green and it seems as though most of the growth nearer the bottom is unaffected. I am a pretty consistent watered and fertilizer. Could it be getting too much sun? I am in northern KY across the river from Cincinnati (zone 6).AE329E3F-CC8B-4E78-A380-6A3ADD9D32D1.jpeg

Looks like it to me. I had similar issues with my Dawn Redwoods. I am a little further north in Michigan but for me the pot was drying out too fast due to the sun and midsummer heat. I couldn't water mid-day because of work so I used shredded sphagnum to topdress the soil and a 30% shade cloth in the hottest part of summer. Haven't had the issue since. Or you could just move to shadier spot in your yard if possible.

Thanks so much for your input. I will try moving it.

Or, if you really have your back up against the wall, you could use a pot the right size for the tree and with an organic media that will hold enough moisture to grow the tree right.
