two ongoing development projects.

best wishes, sam

branching/twigging progressing nicely on the left side. the challenge is to develop balance on the right side, particularly in the upper half of the tree, as well as to build a full apex.

defoliation (cont)

secondary and tertiary branches are there. the next task is to develop a dense network of fine twigs for a finished appearance.

Forgive my stupidity, are these both bougies? I don't have any, but am guessing...
no matter what,- beauties!

Very nice Bougie. I have one which my wife accidentally defoliated by nearly killing it when I was out of town for 4 days. Lost every leaf but budded out a entirely new set. I didn't know it could be fully defoliated before then... How many times a year do you defoliate your Bougie and whens the best time?

yes judy, both are bougainvilleas. thanks for the compliment.

beng. with 365 day growth and warm climate defoliation can be done multiple times a year here. I am developing branches and ramification, so defoliation is done so I can see and wire new growth.

best wishes to you both.

Extremely nice tree!!!

Only thing I will change (if this is mine) is clean up some of the branches on the front to display/expose and hi-lite the nice trunk a bit more/better.
