Here’s a few shots in the making with regards to edges and surfaces .
To get them level is somewhat of a task with cut and fill on the lip

A few more photos showing what it takes to create a geometric from scratch. The wheel thrown pots are a wonder and an amazement yet during the time it takes to create just one free form geometric a skilled potter can probably create dozens of wheel thrown pots. The previous photos of the red body above simply show the detailing process to level and make certain all's well.IMG_6090.JPG

I thought I'd show a few more details making a small simple pot... The footage or feet are critical import details that must have correct proportions as well as finishing detail. I did not photograph the last detail with 'polished' sides and feet but hopefully as it dries to a final greenware condition no cracks will appear and it will go into bisque or first fire. At this point there are about 2-1/2 hrs of detailed work from clay slabs.
