Is there a DIY thread? If not I think someone should start one. I would do it but I'm still really new here. lol

Anyway, I think it would be fun to show off, see, and talk about the various things people make for the hobby. I've already seen some really nice creations.

I just love DIY so.. I guess anything you want to show off would be cool, although I think bonsai related projects would be the most appropriate.
I won't say that a picture is required with every post, as fun as that is I find myself lacking the numbers I would need to make every comment that came to mind. lol

Nice bowl :), the moon shape is awesome. Did you make it with a purpose in mind?

I only have one thing to contribute at the moment. It is only bonsai related if you squint your eyes though. 😆
It's a different kind of bowl.

I found a giant mass of a mineral called Chrysocolla, found near copper deposits. It's a wonderfully bright blue stone with red inclusions the name of which I forget.
They aren't great photos but, oh well.

I made this slab pot out of oven-bake clay as an experiment. I left it outside for a year before putting anything in it to see how it would handle the weather. It still seems perfect to me!

It was cheap, fun, easy, and fast to make. Got the terracotta-color clay at Michael's craft store. I made another, but it's very thin, so I'm not sure if that will work.

Yeah I love this kind of thing. 👍

My neighbor made a wreath out of my bougainvillea flowers:

Sheath for my cheap grafting knife (figured I should use copper wire, because hey, bonsai):

There is a mystery, in my picture storage it is in feet down orientation, when I attach it here it turns it over clockwise 90 degrees. Tried a couple times...

That's a 'cheap' knife? A simple design, but looks like it's neo-Damascus steel, maybe even hand forged.

Very Nice! Never heard of Daiza so I'm glad you posted this. Great way to display.

You kidding, right? You defintelly should try carve that small bonsai pots from this material
Good thought and as a matter of fact I have started carving pots out of stone. I didn't know how they'd be accepted so I haven't spoken of it or shown any yet, but with this new thread I might just do that, eventually.
