I didn't take pictures of the leaves, which is something I should have done. But the seeds are about the same size as a coffee bean. They came in like an acorn type shell. The pictures I've posted are of the shell and the seeds. The tree was definitely deciduous and had small leaves. It looked full size about 5 feet tall. broom style canopy.

Any help would be great because I would like to germinate them and label the pot. Love you bonsainuts

They look almost like CA hazelnuts, but since you say the leaves are small, I'd be inclined to say no. Also, not sure if you'd have CA hazelnuts in Seattle.

If you post a pic of the leaves and stems you might have more luck with someone IDing this. Certainly fruits are big help, but they aren't the full story.
