My Manacá this morning. This is a native from São Paulo, where I live.
Flowers open in white, get pink at noon and die purple in the evening, so one gets the three colours at the same time during the day.
from Wikipedia:
"Tibouchina mutabilis is an evergreen tree with an open crown that grows in Brazil , mainly at the Serra do Mar zone.
Also known as glory bush in Australia, where it is a popular ornamental plant.
In Brazil, it is named Manacá-da-serra."

I wish I could!
It needs plenty of humidity, mist in the morning, and low altitude hills to grow in nature. Coastal rain forests to be more precise. Not easy to care in other climates, I guess.
Oh well...It sure is pretty though.

An azalea I picked up from David Kreutz in 2018. Because it is a 2017 or 2018 import, I removed most of the flower buds in autumn and over the winter. I wanted to get it established first before a full bloom.

I have a lot of pruning and wiring to do this year.
