I just planted these two pot fulls.Just used what pots I had on hand.Bare rooted it.I suppose it should survive just fine ,being a vigorous grass.
Does anyone else just grow it in the rough like this for fun?
Years ago I seen it growing at a local bonsai professionals house. He planted it in bonsai pots in lava rock.He had quite the system down.

Yea,I like this particular one because it loves a lot of sun.I saw it at Walmart yesterday on lunch and just had to have it.
Thanks

I grew some local grass but i like the weeds more, also i grow moss for fun (and because i like a specific moss which isn't so abundant). Btw, can i airlayer weeeds? I would like lower weeds with the flowers, instead of those long laggy stems.

Looks like the Fountain Grass has caught on! Roots poking out the drainage holes.I trimmed all the brown shoots from the mid summer bare rooting and potting. Each plant has one plume growing too.I am hooked:p It's fun.
The plant tag sais' it is hardy to minus 10 degrees.I wonder if it is false info though.I will keep in my cold frame.Falls to around 28 degrees in there..
