So the closest thing to a native within 200 miles is a deer browsed hop hornbeam collected from New York state about 4 springs ago. I have several of these. This summer I read you could put the pot in a pan of water to keep the edges of the leaves from browning. I read it after the browning happened, as it does every summer. I have since wired the straight branches Realize now that the deer were what put the nice curves in it
