Hey nuts! I recently purchased my first home and due to the increased sun exposure I’ve needed some extra help keeping my trees cooled. Luckily, my yard came with a built in sprinkler system. I’ve managed to convert a line into a mist/watering system (via a sprinkler to drip conversion) and it’s been working out great, but it’s leaving hard water stains on some of my trees specifically my ginkgos, redwoods, live oaks, a smoke tree, and princess persimmons.

I have this little filter I’ve attached to my hose I use to do my actual watering in the morning that works great
, but I’m a sprinkler novice and could use some advice on some sort of filter on my sprinklers. Most of what I can find that would attach to the sprinkler head itself is just a mesh screen, which I don’t see helping and the conversion kit already has.
Does anyone with a build in irrigation or watering system have a decent filter? I know I don’t want to use a water softener due to the addition of salt and would want some sort of carbon filter.(?)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
