Help me with my maple

I would do this work in Spring. Given the tree had just recovered, Id let it fully rest. Give it good winter care such as protection from deep freezing.

ypu can remove the fertilizer baskets.

Hey guys, how are you?

The tree have recovered well since the last post. It had a bunch of new leaves that were all over the tree until a couple of weeks ago. But now, it is dormant and dropped almost all the leaves.

Now, I was checking out many of my trees and I realise this one has two points where multiple branches are growing (the first one with 5 branches). I've been told this is common with maples but my question now is: should I prune or do some styling with it now? And more than that, what should I do. The trunk is now thick enough (the same thickness as a pencil). Do you guys think I should cut some of these branches that are growing in the same area or should I worry about that in the future, with a thicker trunk?

Also, I realised it has very big internodes and no movement. Should I start wiring it to give a bit of a movement and remove some of these undesired branches?
Reduce to two branches per space, anymore and it'll swell with serious reverse taper- which is only good when your using a tree as a mother plant for air layers...

But don't go chop crazy and wait until spring. Minor clean up only let it grow out over the next two years so it can establish it's strength, it may appear to be recovered but remember, stress responses can force a hard push of buds for its recovery if this repeats over and over your tree will weaken and possibly die,

Only do necessary maintenance while it's in its recovery period which at minimum id give at least another year.
