Sharing the initial progression of this is a bald cypress that I acquired over last thanksgiving. Finding good BC in the north east is quite difficult so I had to go with landscape material. In any case It survived the mild CT winter last year and leafed out in early May. I repotted it from its nursery pot - it had awful thick roots that grew straight down and had escaped out. Ultimately I had to cut off half the rootball and I planted it in a tub. It’s beginning to put out growth finally. We have quite a short growth season (May - August) here so I envision it will take a while to develop this one.

At this point I envision it to be a flat top design but it’s more important to get good lateral roots. Appreciate any advice and of course, thanks to the folks that have shared their learnings in the other threads on this species.
