Imperial Masterpiece
This very handsome print was printed by Takamizawa Publisher in the mid 1950s. It was a reprint of the original produced in the early 19th century, using all the same methods as the originals. That involved a separate carved wood printing block for each color. I see six colors here meaning six blocks were carved to produce this print. This was all performed by artists using the time tested procedures that have been used for the past two centuries. Still, the print is close to 70 years old, uncirculated and in its original presentation folder.
