Had to water yesterday, many plants are starting to bud and some bulbs are breaking round. Even though the temps will dip a bit it won't be enough long enough to do any harm.

Been crazy swings back and fourth in Maine. Get a week or two of unusual heat where the snow is melting super fast and it feels like spring is coming, then we get a cold front that takes us sub zero followed by a blizzard when it starts to warm. Makes for some challenges in keeping trees dormant. Luckily we have a very large basement beneath the house and barn so that helps keep the balance a little.

The next 2 weeks and beyond look like thisScreenshot_20170207-072846.png
Looks a lot like spring to me, it's only 2 months early this year lol

It's been average over here. The pic is a screenshot showing temps in my greenhouse, cold frame, and if you look at the upper left corner it shows the temp outside right now. Perfect conditions for all my tree's:)View attachment 130036
That's great news! Curious what your facing on those hot days though...my windows are open in the greenhouse. Have been for awhile with this warm spell.

Yet another 60 degree day here. My Jap Maple buds are swelling and azalea trying to wake up. Trouble is it's going to drop to 15F in the next couple nights. Up and down... forcast near 60 again for weekend.

Still hitting 68's deg.F and the rains have stopped. Up to lows 80's by day.
Wind, wind, wind..........................
Fridge checked, trees are watered.
Next check - 21 /Feb / 17

Oldest Fukien tea is lush with new leaves - 2nd dose of fertiliser applied, just 2 more doses
for next step .....................

Mini plants next for repot.

Collected a few seedlings of a local acacia type tree, and the same result as last time - 4 collected - all dead.
Something we are missing???????????
Good Day

It feels wrong to "like" your statement, but you have company and sympathy for sure!

Full on classic winter right now, -15c white and fluffy...
Beautiful!
Agreed it's pretty as long as I don't have to live in it. LOL I'll take the pics and be satisfied. LOL
Our only temps that cold came in Fall/Dec

Maybe you just don't know what your missing?
There's all sorts of advantages that are not obvious.
The kitchen is cold enough that you don't have to put food away, just leave it on the counter, very convenient. Savings on fuel because the vehicle is stuck in the driveway.
Scotch whisky tastes way better when you're shivering for some reason... Stuff like that

Well, now that the days are in low 60's I really just leave the door shut on my cold frame. I open it up from 4am in the morning when I wake up and shut it when I leave at 5:30 am to trap some cold air in there. It stays in the 30's until around 11:30-12 noon and then goes into the low 40's. On a 60f day it will climb up to 50f for about 1.5 hours and then drop back down into the 40's as soon as the sun goes down. I open the door back up for a couple of hours in the evening to allow more cold air in. Building my cold frame on the north side of my house and constructing it the way I did has really helped!
