I bought a shimpaku

Saw this guy at a place an hour away from me. The price was unbelievable for a shimpaku.
It was too good a deal to pass up so it came home with me.

It has about a 1" trunk

I will e-mail you my address you can ship it anytime. Thats a nice tree. I got some cuttings 2 years ago they look good but sitll about the same size.

It looks like it was bought at a Bonsai store judging by the container, at least you never see that type of nursery container in a regular nursery. It looks great, healthy and an obviously compact root system to start with. I bet the roots may have been worked too. Nice tree.

Answer: No. It is sitting out on the bench among the rest of them waiting for when it will have to be moved into the garage for the winter. Ill take a closer look at it in the spring.

Good score. Time to look at the recent multiple "new talent" threads to get some ideas.

It doesn't hurt to poke around and study the branch structure now...and get the creative juice flowing.

Yes, Ive been picking it up occasionally and looking at the branches to try and decide where to go with the tree in the spring. Just not going to act on it until then.
