Wild cherry tree thinking about collecting it. New to this so any information or help would be much appreciated

That was exactly the thread that came to mind for me too!Do you know the growing characteristics of a wild cherry for the bonsai hobby? I've read a few posts through out my years in the hobby on the negative pit falls if the species. But...here...read the second post from rockm...he collected an old specimen with gnarly bark...and still speaks of the pit falls of the tree. That said, I see no gnarly old bark in the photo you are using as your "profile photo".
The dieback issues and pests...would keep me from choosing this tree.
