3 gallon, 5 gallon and larger nursery pots are excellent, and it is perfectly possible to bring a maple to 2 inches diameter trunk in a 5 gallon nursery container

Interestingly, nobody did.
There were 2 remarks about, why repot now. And, certainly from my side, asking after the why. Not telling someone what they should or should not do. And appearently that is enough to send someone off the rails.

But if it is not an option, for what ever reason, there is no need to belabor the point.

Last one to argue that. Several roads lead to rome, all with their perks and problems
