What a great bunch of guys a real credit to Bonsai, and in the over all scheme of things you seem to confirm my original thoughts. In short; one cannot disagree with you or your master and not pay the price. If you do not agree you will be beat down and humiliated mercilessly until you disappear or no longer resist this sort of quasi-tyrany.
I went to check that discussion on facebook once, now i understand what you were talking about all of a sudden.
Its hard to understand some people, i dont think your comment there was bad at all, offcourse if one want to be insulted its easy to be. (By the way, i feel this often applies to you too vance). But regarding your comment on his question i actually agree with what you said. I also thought there are better choices for that tree. They are all nice pots though. Comments like antique japanese is a winner everytime is really bulshit comment and doesnt sound like one cares about the look as long as it has a brandname. Its a fact that many old japanese pots are nice, its also a fact that many old japanese pots arent. And not every great old pot fits well with every great tree.

And one does not need to own a great bonsai/ pot to be able to know what a great bonsai is..

Thank God someone took the time to look for themselves. I think you did miss my paranoid point. Follow the money. I will leave it at that for now.

Rick is right we should return to Judy's tree. This is the front I prefer. I really don't care what style of pot the tree goes into, the over-all effect of the tree and pot most important. Yes a Round Pot could work but it would have to be the right Round pot. A rectangle pot would probably be best but I look at the bark and want to see something with a bit of character to it. I have seen some plain sided pots suggested; they're alright and will work but I don't think they are the best choice that makes the tree pop. As to the tree; this is the best grafted JWP I have seen. The graft and the actual scion are pretty nearly matched and the bark on the scion is very good. Too often these trees have very rough stocks and very smooth scions making the graft ugly. This one is not and if it keeps going the way it is going it will develop into something surprisingly better than most people could possible imagine. I would bring down the branches on the right a bit more. I would like to see the right side branch and it's foliage pad a bit more to horizontal. If I hijacked your thread I beg your forgiveness.

Judy never asked advice about a pot for her tree, that Yoda poster without any bonsai in pots started the pot tangent. You just stuck your foot in it Vance. Judy's tree is coming along nicely.

Brian: Yes; absolutely her tree is doing far better than a couple of JWP's I have seen posted here and yes; I did. I expressed an opinion and you can say I put my foot in it. You just couldn't resist pointing that out though could you?

As long as the pot is calling the kettle dented and black your record starting with pot 133, 139 were about tables. 183,185 215 and 220 were about pots

Judy put the tree up in a post and she did not say she did not want any comments----that I rmember. In post 234 she seemed to indicate that she enjoyed the direction the thread has taken, and suggested we start another thread about pots.

Your Post 234 and 246 were about how wrong I was. Again: Judy if anything I said has offended you I apologize it was not my intention. I know how you dislike dissension especially on one of your posts.

That's because she asked for advice on stands back in July. Classic Vance: you're wrong so reframe the argument. SMH.

Posts 183, 185,215, and 220 were unsolicited posts about pots, from you; or maybe you have a cart blanch invitation to post anything you want on any post from anyone and any time. I don't really give a fecal donation Brian. Let's look at some classic Brian-----

I'll post anything I want anywhere I want ant time I want. If I think I have something to say on a thread I am going to say it and, I don't give (expletive deleted) what you think. If you assume I am going to roll over any time you or your friends come along because you don't like what I have to say you can go and commit an unnatural act on yourself or each other.

I have been trying for years to get along with you so;--- I am going to stop trying. AND----- I am not going away. Neither am I going out of my way to confront you unless I know you are off the wall and if you come after me, like you have the habit of doing, I will bite back. I have put too many years in bonsai with my own hands and hard word. I know you don't think much of it, that's your privilage, but at least I don't need back up. I could say more and start telling you what I really think but that's not necessary------yet.

Whatever Vance. Do your worst, I really don't care what you think, just do it somewhere else.
Maybe we can meet at the Nationals one day and hammer out pinching over a seltzer water.

This is getting stupid ridiculous..people we are grown adults not kids playing in a sand box fighting about who gets the red shovel and who gets the blue one. Act your age please.

Needless of the lame people here @JudyB I'm very very jelly of this pine, I'd image that another few years and this will be award winning or close to it.

It is a very nice Pine, the best of its kind I have seen on this site or anywhere else for that matter. Nice of you to stop by to add your two cents worth.

However much I love the image of Vance and Brian in a screen sided sand box.....
Pinching each others nipples and hitting each other with pots....

I stand by my previous request.....
A few thousand words maybe.....

Hell.....you want to argue the pot choice?
Make a virtual......
A thousand more words...

Wow those are moving!
Any thought on why it's growing stronger? Any changes with your feeding or care in the last year? I've noticed my somewhat younger WP having longer candles this season than in past years, but my lone older more refined one seems the same as other season. I didn't do anything different to either!
