Juniper Tanuki

My first attempt at Tanuki using a piece of Eastern Red Cedar (?) driftwood I found on the beach in southern NJ. Basically slip-potted in the new $25 pot and arranged the juniper inside the driftwood. I didn't need any staples yet given the large fissures I can use; hope it makes it!

Just saw this thread and am looking to do sonething similar. Did you just tie the tree to the back, carve a groove for it?

Any pics of it now?
