Hmm…. Looks like you pushed the envelope too hard on hard pruning both this and your Karen azalea. I don’t know anout Cascade, but Karen is pretty tough normally.
IAfter pushing the power curve on hard pruning late in the year in 2019 and ending in disastrous or poor result,I not to give any hard prunes past May, normal prunes to the second week of July, yet have partially cut through branches as late as September to finish the in the following mid Springtime.
I hope you get a couple more azaleas soon and give them another run.
