You just don’t want root coming out of the trunk above the current roots.

Would this have any negative impact long term, assuming you cut them off next repot?

One can is good for 15-20 BCs.

The price point on this is excellent. The 200G tube I posted was $30. I'll chalk that up to me being a noob.

Your branch splits are nearly all the same length. They need to get progressively shorter. You may need to cut Hulk back a bit more to make that happen. Other than that Hulk looks good and healthy.

PS: Put on some prune sealant to keep the cuts from cracking wider.

I think I will shorting the top branches a bit more tomorrow.
Am letting the lower branches go to thicken

Here's most of the tools I used. I tried not to leave big gouges with the carving tools. I used a bigger hand saw & my drill with a wood carving paddle attachment to get started (not pictured)
I carved with the wood handle tools quite a bit, it should look roughed up a bit a guess. Not bad attempt as I've never done that before I'll let it heal a bit and go from there.
