Miss Kim; too bad it's not scratch n' sniff

How about July 4th for the late arrival of Miss Kim Lilac blooms. Only about a month late. Smells amazing, wish you were here.



Actually after the bloom I am going to cut back a few branches pretty hard. The long straight branch on the right has to be dealt with, along with a couple of others that aren't quite so obvious. Coming along nice but like my other trees, needs a little more help!!

This was the first year my Miss kim did not bloom. My little pat did but was a poor show and quite spindly.

I have these in my yard. The scent is a little spicy, unlike standard lilac. Nice ! July 4th is a bit late.

I've had it for about five years. It has bloomed every year. In my cool climate I have the ability to give trees full sun all day, all summer. I wonder if that doesn't help the blooming. I am going to up the fertilizer this year. I'm interested in seeing how it will respond.
