I use to live in PA for like 10 years - pretty place and great for bonsai hunting but BC don't grow there :(
I beg to differ. The park where I take my grandchildren to play has a BC that is about 30 ft tall.

I am seriously considering adding a silver (swamp) maple to my forest. Your thought?

Yes?!

We have all those all over the place in the great dismal swamp area so i'd say yes

Coming along, but hurts my back just to look at it! When is the big move? We have plenty of BC around here, planted 6 in a wet area 35 years ago, and they're huge now, and even have put up knees. So they will be fine in PA. too.

Added 3 swamp maple seedlings into the mix. I have seen them growing side by side with bald cypress so this should be a good mix.

First prune already had to be done to balance the growth.
