Mugo restyle

This is a mugo I acquired 2 years ago. The previous owner was no longer able to keep up with his collection and I was in the right place at the right time. I'm guessing this was in his care for at least 2 decades. The first side of the tree. Kind of a semi broom style for lack of a better term. All the branches have gotten pretty leggy.
Other side. Gee, guess I should have moved that bottom branch.

It needs a repot. Note the pea gravel substrate. A couple of ideas..I like this one initially.
Couple of other possibilitiesThoughts?

You should consider removing that bottom branch.

Good thought. I haven't even thought thru the possibilities of utilizing Jin, etc.

I would put it in a pond basket. Give it lots of sun and fertilizer and hope for back budding.
