Funny you mention sage brush. I've been looking at coyote bush as potential. It's grows everywhere around me. Shaggy woody trunks and stems. Feather like foliage that could easily be trimmed into appealing pads. The stuff is bulletproof too. Almost impossible to kill. If I work with some I'll definitely post a new thread about working with it. Thanks Leo for advice regarding carving. Solid advice!
