Mystery Maple

Does anyone know what type of maple this is? I got it years ago at a club auction, it was just labeled "maple. Here is a shot of the leaves and of the bark or trunk with what looks like bark.

As said above, it looks like my Purpleblow Maple/Shantung Maple (Acer truncatum). Im 75% sure. They make decent bonsai according to Brent. I like mine a lot.

It is a Shantung Maple and man those are colorful later in the season and called a Fire Dragon here. Not certain if there are many cultivars.

+1 on Acer Truncatum. I have one that just unfurled a few leaves. They get that nice purple fringe.
