I think I have finally decided to use a hoop tunnel this winter to protect many of my new plants. A cold frame big enough to handle my needs is no doable right now. No garage and basement will be too warm with me firing pottery. The hoops with a frost blanket is easy and cheap.
I am curious as to whether many of you use this method and in general what other methods you apply. I am not a neophyte as I have over 50 years in horticulture, but I have so many young plants this year and a few that are right on the edge of my weather zone.

My VA trees lived thru -twenty something.

Yours'll be alright.

I'm for spending $ on the entire deal, greenhouse, climate control, etc. 9.

Or letting them just live grounded.

Otherwise you're just going to cause problems that didn't exist before.
