Hey gang, been missing on here for a minute:)
Sharing my new Azalea with you all. Yes, its still pre-bonsai stock but, I really feel this tree can become special one day. Hope you all like it.

The tree is not that big. 15 inches from the soil line.

The nebari is pretty good & was probably 1/2 the price for this expensive stock. Yes it wasn't cheap for pre-bonsai, but I feel that working with a nice piece of stock makes the job more enjoyable, or certainly cuts down on a couple of ten years or so....:)

The tree is still struggling to acclimate to Hawaii's HOT weather, but I feel it'll be fine.

Duane,
Beautiful trunk and nebari. Keep us posted when you refine the branching/

Very nice little tree. I assume you bought it from a Mainland source, so I hope it grows OK for you in seasonless Hawaii. Azalea do need a change of seasons for long-term health. The do poorly in zone 9 or higher.

Duane I think i have one of that variety, pretty combinations of colors different from branch to branch.

By the way - jeez even - just bonsai stock - Dude your Killing us.:D

really nice, duane. how do these things do in our climate?

best wishes, sam

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply. I've been hella busy with work :(
axxon, thank you, yes the nebari is good

Mr jkl, long time no hear sir. I'll get back to you in about 5 years :)

Hi Bill S, thank you for your kind words. I will post some pics when....if it flowers ;)

Hey Sam, I have 2 other Satsuki that are doing good so far. The hard part I was told, is without a cold snap, the flowers wont open all at the same time. Hope things are well with you & the Mrs.
