btw Amur maples (acer ginnala) originate from the Amur River valley in China/Russia and aren't a Japanese maple (acer palmatum, shirasawanum, japonicum).
 
I'm glad you ended up with that Amur maple, I think you have better vision for it than I would have.

I would like to see progress on your Amur Ginnala. Is it true that you have created a new cultivar called Japanese Maple Amur? I saw what look like the new cultivar in your Penjing planting.

How do you really know that. It could be the Amur River Valley species of maple posing as a look alike?
