New boxwood from Lowe's

I found this boxwood (Vardar Valley Boxwood) at Lowe's. Since I am forced to practice and learn bonsai on the cheap, I was excited by the instant potential of this boxwood. I like the trunk and the nebari are better than any of my other developing trees.

One of the problems I have with this boxwood is the smaller trunk seen in the second picture of the first posted set and in the third picture in the second posted set. The trunk cuts up and across the larger trunk and is very unsightly. I'm thinking of removing it, or trying to bend it gently and slowly. However, since boxwood is very brittle I don't think bending it will be practical. Any straight-up, constructive suggestions will be welcomed.

Removing that was instantly my reaction, without it you have the start of a nice tree. However, I concur that Behr is the person you should confer with.
