Today I Noticed this one has started to Leaf out. It’s been wintered in my unheated greenhouse and is the first to break bud. I Imagine I will have to keep it in the heated cold frame now until temps raise. 1A9C45D6-0EC0-4105-877E-8541F5FDC265.jpeg1B51A217-E054-4D47-A736-78D2321F60BE.jpegI plan on chopping down, but am thinking I’ll wait till after first flush.68EBC365-A65C-4CCC-B28E-8614E28E24C9.jpeg

The 2 buds visible in the void died off, so I decided to try and layer the top off. 27C3612D-E3E0-4C9D-935E-C867E8CAE13B.jpeg3B04798F-BF96-4A7C-9635-EE51C18C8DB1.jpeg

I it works, hopefully I’ll get some new buds below the layer. The top will be a nice start as well. 😄

Well, layer was a fail. So I chopped it off a few weeks ago.
Getting some nice new growth to create a new top. IMG_9675.jpegThat trunk is pretty dang straight, but I’m over it. I’ll just let it build character.

Starting up again. Like y’all told me, I should have chopped lower from the begging.

Long round about way, but perhaps getting some movement into this ugly duckling IMG_0691.jpegIMG_0688.jpegIMG_0690.jpegIMG_0687.jpegIMG_0686.jpegIMG_0684.jpeg
