Pine fertilzer recommendations please!

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a very effective fertilizer regime for young developing JWP and JBP, but I'm on a student budget.

Can those of you with experience please recommend me what fertilizers you feel are most successful, and how and when they are used for these pine species?

For young trees, any more or less balanced fertilizer (Miracle-Gro is fine) will be fine. Perhaps when they are older and going into a bonsai pot, you might start looking for a fertilizer with a bit less N.
