Anyone know what type of mushrooms these are? Lol.

Bruise them, if they stain blue, do a spore print. If violet spores, they be magic mushrooms

Warning, they look rather yellow in color, I don't think they are Psilocybe. Beware, Conocybe and a few others are similar and can be deadly. Staining blue eliminates most of the "bad shrooms" but you need the spore print to be certain.

This is what I was going to ask... oxidation test! Psilocin and psilocybin can (in various ratios) oxidize at break/bruise points blue, violet, even greenish if higher in baecostyn or other toxins....
For exact specie, the substrate is most important. You can identify alot JUST by knowing what they “eat..“
I.e. “magic” mushrooms In the psilocybe genus are grain gobbling (hence composted grain found in horse and cow manure IF untreated grain). Whereas other still “magic” mushrooms from (let’s say” Gymnopilus species).. “eat” decomposing coniferous wood... and they spore print bright, vivid rust-colored.
Alternatively Psilocybe baocytis (one of the few GRAIN-lovers that I’ve
found in wisconsin) spore prints jet black...almost inky.

The deepest, richest violet (like leo said) spore print I’ve ever seen was Psilocybe Azurescens... collected in Oregon.

Psilocybe Cubensis (the most prevalent “magic mushroom” typically bruise the classic royal blue.

I like fungus... fascinating structures.

Test them : if you spend the rest of the night in the toilet, sell them to a fitness center.

If this message looks like printed on moving muticolored stainglass and you can't laugh stupidly, then feel lost and vomit while understanding the meaning of the Universe, dry them and share with friends on spatial occasions 😄

Seriously : most mushrooms that grow on the soil are not only harmless, but the mycorrhyzae are beneficial to trees.

In the early 1980s, we would listen to that kind of thing while high. That was fun, I haven't had LSD or mushrooms since, but that was fun :

Goooooood stuff!!! Two thumbs WAY WAY up!

“Seekers” know what’s “up”...

;)

@AlainK , I know we have spoken of fungus before. Your climate has to be supremely adventitious for MOST interesting species.

Yes, indeed.. in fact, most all toxins, alkaloids, -amides, -ites and -stins will ALL show up in some way or another through the easy oxidation test..

The mushroom guys don’t want you to know that MOST fungus is edible.... more for them! 🤣

And the “magic mushroom” guys want you to think that psilocybin can only be found in “poop-growing” fungus.. again, more for them!!! 😆😆

France is a small country compared to the US, but we have several climates. In some places, in Autumn, in the Alps or in Jura forests for instance, the police patrols to check what's in the baskets of mushroom pickers - so that they don't get poisoned, of course. ;)

Here, it's a bit harder to find good mushrooms but we don't get pestered by men in uniform.

Interesting! Here we have the DNR Marshalls meddling in our “outdoor affairs”.. In states like Wisconsin, they have MORE power than the police. The first time one such officer approached me about “collection”, he came to my HOUSE, full kevlar and DOUBLE side-arms... I totally get it, too.. these woods are deep, just wise to have a little security in your waistband (and I’m local ;) )

Very reasonable and understanding people.. were MORE than fair with a miscreant like me. HA!

While I agree that majority of mushrooms are not poisonous, there are a few "little brown mushrooms" that are truly fucking deadly. While your odds of running into them, they are out there and can destroy a liver with just a bite or two.

While I delight in the idea of harvesting happy shrooms, I really want to emphasize that one must proceed with caution. It is possible to make a deadly mistake.

I have eaten a polypore that grows on my 250 year old oak tree on the farm. Polypores as a group are safe. This one was delicious the first day or two after it emerged. By the second week, ugh. The flavor was really off. The polypore persisted until a hard freeze, and the taste became really bad by the end of summer. So while technically edible, delicious even for a few days, it was really not a palatable mushroom by the end of summer.

So mushroom hunting is fascinating. There are only a few species I trust myself to pick on my own. And I caution everyone not to be cavalier in identifying mushrooms. It would be a shame to make a mistake and suddenly find yourself in need of a liver transplant.

Well here, some police officers are stupid, but frankly most of them aren't. They're just civil servants doing their best for their fellow citizens to live in a peaceful environment.

We do have problems with police brutality, but the police that stop you when you don't wear your seatbelt, or use the phone while driving, never ever pull out a gun, don't wear bullet-proof vests or the like. So far.

What happens elsewhere in the world has an echo here, a rather powerful echo actually because of fatal incidents here too. Our "home secretary", the "interior minister" has had a conference today and said that from now on, lying a suspect face down and/or kneeling on his/her neck was forbidden. Things are improving, I'll keep on mushroom picking. And anyway, there's about 12 people shot dead by the police each year here, we're 70 000 000, so as a blue-eyed blond old man in a country where gun control is very strict, I feel safe.

And what's better to enjoy life than getting back home after mushroom picking in the forest, make an omelette and sip a glass of wine ?

Life is beautiful ;)

Ab-so-lutely! Nearly complete identification is necessary for me before I would choose to ingest... and with a microscope...you can be even more certain. Normally tissue samples are enough, but you can always suspend some spores. :)

can destroy a liver with just a bite or two.

Some can induce an allergy to alcohol, inkcap (Coprinus) for instance. The principle was used to cure addiction to alcohol, but is not any longer for when the craving comes, it can be fatal to those who took the medication.

And of course some are lethal, here Amanita phalloidiae for instance. But others can be very dangerous if you don't know how to identify them. Some "bolete", or "porcini" are among the best ones, others are toxic (at least, diarrhea and vomiyting).

I spoke very lightly about that, in a jocular way, but if you don't know the mushrooms, if you haven't been 'trained' by a local who knows the plants, you'd better be very careful - or "you could be very dead" to quote Jose Chepito Areas.

Decent fight from this guy!....he's all tuckered out....napping on my hand.
These various Sunfish seem to hybridize easily, like Oak trees.
This looks to me like a Green Sunfish / Pumpkinseed Sunfish.
Definitely not a Bluegill or Redear....that belly is very orange for a Greenie.
Thoughts?

He has teethmarks on his hind end, that's probably the source of your "decent fight".
